eSIM-Compatible Devices

Yoho Mobile runs entirely on eSIM — there's no SIM card to ship, no plastic to lose. Activation happens through a QR code that loads a digital profile straight into your phone. Before buying a plan, two things need to be true about your device: it has to support eSIM at the hardware level, and it can't be locked to another carrier. Run the two checks below, then browse the brand sections to find your exact model.

How to Check Your Device

1. Confirm eSIM Support

The fastest way to confirm: open your device settings and look for an option to add an eSIM. The exact menu name depends on the manufacturer:

• Apple (iPhone, iPad): Settings → Cellular (or Mobile Data) → look for Add eSIM.
• Samsung Galaxy: Settings → Connections → SIM Manager → look for Add eSIM.
• Google Pixel: Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → look for Download a SIM or Add eSIM.
• Other Android: Search IMEI in Settings. An entry labeled IMEI (eSIM) or EID means your phone supports eSIM. You can also dial *#06# — if an EID appears in the result, you're good.

2. Confirm Carrier Unlock

If your phone is locked to a carrier, it won't activate eSIMs from anyone else — including Yoho Mobile. Here's how to check:

• iPhone: Settings → General → About → Carrier Lock. The reading "No SIM restrictions" means you're unlocked.
• Android: Pop in a SIM from a different carrier. If it connects to mobile data, you're unlocked. Phones bought on a payment plan are usually locked until the plan is finished.
• Not sure either way? Ask your current carrier for the unlock status. Most providers will unlock the phone for free once you've finished paying for it.

How can I tell if my phone supports eSIM?

Open your phone's settings and look for an option to add or download an eSIM. If that option is there, your phone supports eSIM. Here's where to find it on the most common devices:

• Apple: Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM
• Samsung: Settings → Connections → SIM Manager → Add eSIM
• Google Pixel: Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → Download a SIM

If no such option appears, your device is SIM-only and won't work with Yoho Mobile.

What does "carrier-locked" actually mean?

A carrier-locked phone is tied to a single mobile provider — it only accepts that provider's SIMs and eSIMs. Yoho Mobile is a third-party service, so a locked phone can't activate any of our plans. The fix is to ask your current carrier to unlock the device, which most providers do for free once the phone is paid off.

Can I use Yoho Mobile on a jailbroken or rooted device?

For safety reasons, our app refuses to run on devices it detects as jailbroken or rooted. The eSIM itself isn't affected — you can buy and store a Yoho plan from any device — but you'll need a stock (non-rooted) phone to install the profile and manage your plan from the app.

What if my phone doesn't support eSIM?

Two options. Pick up a physical SIM at your destination, or upgrade to an eSIM-compatible phone for the next trip. Almost every flagship phone released after 2018 supports eSIM, and the list grows every quarter.

My device isn't on this list — is it really unsupported?

Not necessarily. The list above reflects what we've verified, but new models appear all the time and we don't always catch every regional variant.
